Note – From Linda Banister

One morning I woke up to the realization that I was raising two children, by myself. This was not the plan, not my dream.

This was not what I wanted for my children, or anyone’s children.

The statistics were staggering. Telling me all of the horrible things that my children would experience and possibly become, or never become. I was not going to let that happen.

You don’t have to let those things happen to you. You don’t have to be the person statistics describe you to be.

I grabbed my Bible and I looked up every verse I could find about children. God is our Heavenly Father, even more so to those without an earthly father.

“A father of the fatherless….” Psalms 68:5

He is always with you. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

And when other people seemed to not care, Jesus did. He said, many times, “Let the children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14, Mark 10:14, Luke 18:16

You decide. You choose, to not be a statistic.
