YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR GRANDCHILDREN SUCCEED IN LIFE DON’T YOU?
If you are honest you want your grandchildren to succeed.
But the question is how?
According to studies and statistics there is a ton of stuff stacked against the future success of fatherless & motherless individuals.
It is devastating to see. You probably have seen or heard some of the statistics. Here is one of them:
“Fatherless Children are at a dramatically greater risk of drug and alcohol abuse, mental illness, suicide, poor educational performance, teen pregnancy, and criminality.” –U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Center for Health Statistics, Survey on Child Health, Washington, DC, 1993.
Motherless children have similar but different issues. Some of which girls lack guidance on how to be a woman and boys lose out on not having a relationship with their mother that results in them not knowing how to properly treat women in the future. Also the lack of a mother often could create an absence of emotional growth and peace that mothers often provide. They also might struggle with "Very high risk of developing low levels of self- esteem. If a mother chooses to leave, then the natural thought of the child is that the mother doesn’t love them. This creates confusion and then guilt because the children believe it is their fault that their mother has left."
BOTH MOM AND DAD PLAY A VERY IMPORTANT ROLE IN THEIR CHILDREN’S LIVES.
WOW - that is a lot to take in.
AND it is some scary stuff for the fatherless and for their guardians.
AND NOT HERE YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF THEIR LIFE.
It is such a shame that so many young individuals will end up going down a path that God did not intend for them to go down.
BUT as a grandparent raising your grandchildren you can help setup your children for success! There are things you can do to help put them on a path towards a successful life.
Psalm 68:5 says that God is "A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation.”
I love this verse so much! Through you and your grandchildren having a personal relationship with Jesus God will be your children’s Father and He will defend you!
