Did you know that David could have been defeated before he ever faced Goliath? Here are some of the things that are listed in 1 Samuel 17 that could have defeated him:
He could have adopted a Defeated Mindset - like the other Israelites had - in vs 23-27
He could have listened to the people doubting him and belittling him - Vs. 28-30
He could have used the wrong tools such as Saul's armor - Vs. 38-39
He could have been defeated by his enemies taunting and ridiculing - Vs. 42-44
BUT after all of these attacks, all of this ridicule David had the victory!
1 Samuel 17:49 says "And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.”
Since God is your Dad through Jesus He wants you to succeed but you have to power through the enemy's lies, taunting, ridiculing, and fighting! You can do this through God!
