Everyone wants a dad. Even if you have your dad in your life he can only give you so much love, attention, help, encouragement, etc. in his human capacity. God is the best dad of all. HE is the CREATOR of Humanity so there is no one better that knows us and what we need from a dad than He does.
Regardless of whether you have a relationship with your dad or not, God wants to be your Heavenly Father!
There is nothing like having a personal relationship with God as our Dad through trusting in His Son Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
GOD WANTS TO BE MY DAD?
YES! Regardless of your relationship with your earthly dad, God wants to be your Dad too! If you are fatherless the Bible says:
“A father of the fatherless…is God in his holy habitation.” (Psalm 68:5)
“God is my Dad” was created because there are so many of us that need and want a dad. The Bible shows us that God loved us so much that He made a way for us to go to Heaven by sending His only Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
POSSIBLE THROUGH JESUS, GOD’S SON!
Because of Jesus we no longer have to wonder where we will go when we die, and we get to have a relationship with Jesus and God the Father! So how do you trust in Jesus as your Savior? Look at what the Bible says.
ADMIT YOU ARE A SINNER: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”(Romans 3:23) You must realize that you are a sinner. Have you ever lied, stolen something, cheated, or done something you knew was wrong? If so, then you have sinned before, and admitting you are a sinner is the first step. Every person has sinned. Have you ever sinned?
UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR SIN LEADS YOU TO HELL: “For the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23a) Do you want to go to Heaven or Hell when you die? Do you understand that the punishment for your sin is death and separation from God in a place the Bible calls Hell?
BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS: “But God commendeth (proved) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”(Romans 5:8) Out of God’s love for us, He sent His Son to die for our sins. This is our hope, through Christ we can be saved from separation from God and an eternity in Hell. Do you believe that the only way to go to Heaven is through trusting in Jesus Christ?
ACCEPT GOD’S GIFT: “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b) God’s gift is eternal life in Heaven only through Jesus Christ. Are you willing to accept this FREE gift from God?
PRAY TO JESUS AND ACCEPT HIS SALVATION: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13) Are you ready to make the decision to accept Jesus as your Savior?
THE DECISION IS COMPLETELY YOURS.
As you can see it is actually very simple for God to become your Dad and it is the most important decision you will ever make. It is your decision. When you choose to have God as your Dad it tells us in Hebrews 13:5b that God “will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Once you decide to have God as your Dad He will never leave you!
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)
Jesus died for you, was buried, and rose again, making him the only way to Heaven! Do you believe these things in your heart? Are you ready to pray and ask Jesus to save you from your sins?
If you understand this information and would like to receive Jesus as your Savior, please pray the following suggested prayer or read it first and then pray to God in your own words:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know that You are God, and I know that You died in my place to pay for my sins. I believe that You rose from the dead, proving that You are God. Right now, in the best way that I know how, I call upon You and ask You to be my Lord and my Savior and my God. Thank You Jesus for dying for me. Help me now to live for You. Amen.”
YOUR NEXT STEPS:
If you just trusted in Christ as your Savior then God just became your Dad!
“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15)
This simply means that God is our Daddy! Now you are able to seek a closer relationship with your Dad by reading the Bible and praying to Him!
