Take a minute right now and think about what you are good at or what you like to do.
Imagine if what you are good at or what you like to do died with you!
That would be a waste!
NOW THINK ABOUT TAKING WHAT YOU ARE GOOD AT OR LIKE TO DO AND IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE IF YOU TAUGHT YOUR GRANDCHILDREN THOSE THINGS.
TEACHING THEM DOES THREE THINGS:
1- TEACHING THEM GIVES THEM CONFIDENCE
Knowing how to do something and knowing how to do it well is a confidence builder for anyone.
2- TEACHING THEM FORMS A BOND BETWEEN YOU AND THEM
Spending time together while learning something from you is a special time.
3- TEACHING THEM HELPS THEM GAIN RESPONSIBILITY -
I see a lot of parents and grandparents that do everything for their grandchildren.
Don’t do this. Give them responsibility.
It is ok to be a grandparent but also you don’t want to spoil them so much that they are lazy and will never contribute to society.
Besides responsibility out of the home don’t be afraid to assign responsibilities in the home as well. They need to contribute!
